Happy New Year! 2013

I wish you a very Happy New Year
filled with health, happiness and success in whatever is you do or want to do.  Set some goals and try to accomplish them.  I no longer make resolutions, but I do set goals for my personal and professional life.  I have accomplished quite a bit this year, and moving into 2013 will be challenging, but I am always up for new beginnings, and new challenges.  2012 handed me ups and downs like everyone else, and I'm all about learning and growing.

2012 Cancer Free!

My journey with cancer included surgeries, chemo, and radiation.  After all that, I needed plenty of follow up with my oncologist, including quite a bit of blood work.  As a survivor, I still have to get  blood tests and mammograms  Today was the day for my mammogram.  For some reason, I was particularly nervous.  But the good (I should say great!) news is that I am cancer free.  Did you know that over a woman’s lifetime, there is a one in eight chance she will get breast cancer.  Breast cancer can be a highly curable disease if detected and treated early.  My cancer was found during a routine, yearly check up and a mammogram.  Talk about a shock!

I wasn't on social media during my journey-but I wish I was.  There are thousands of survivors and kind people who connect with you. Unfortunately, there are also too many more suffering this terrible disease.

Thank you to my friends who continually send me love, kind words, and prayers.  I truly appreciate you.

Until next time!   be kind, be strong, be honest

Such Sorrow

I finished my Holiday blogpost on Thursday night, and was going to post it sometime on Friday. But in light of the tragic events in Newtown, CT on Friday,  I couldn't bring myself to post it.  My heart is broken, along with everyone else.  All those looming questions stir in my mind-how could this happen, again and again, and again. These children and staff are innocent victims of a person who was clearly evil.  I ask the question that everyone else is asking - and that is, why?  Did this evil murderer have anyone in his life that noticed something just might be wrong?  To say I cannot even imagine the horror for the victims, the families and the first responders is an understatement.  Innocent victims, this is so sad.  I send the survivors, families and first responders healing prayers. Rest in peace, sweet little angels, hero staff.

What I Am Thankful For

I've been wondering!  What should I blog about this week? Let’s see what I am thankful for, after all it is Thanksgiving.

I don't live a perfect life, nobody does.  How you react to situations and your attitude towards things, contributes to help being in a good and happy place-in my opinion.

Here is my list of what I'm thankful for, and what I truly appreciate:
  • I am still healthy and in remission from breast cancer.
  • A good, healthy and committed marriage; amazing and kind friends; the most awesome of pets, Zoey and Lucy as most of you know.
  • My career is going well, and am blessed that I work with a great team and have gotten far in my company.  You get back what you put in, right?  I believe that.
  • I am a co-host on blogtalk radio. You’ll see my very first blog post dedicated to this topic.

I am thankful that the future does look bright.

On this special day, remember our troops, and Happy Thanksgiving!!

Friends and Friendship

As we all know, friends come and go. True friends are the ones that celebrate the good times with you, and are there through the not so good times. These are the friends we love and cherish

So speaking of friends, the social media world of twitter has led me to meet new friends from around the world!  Like so many others, I didn't know what to expect when I first joined twitter. I didn't really start tweeting for months.  Then one day I started to get followers.  Oh my, when I reached 20 I was thrilled, then on and on. Along this journey is where I have met the most amazing, sweet, fun, down to earth people that I truly call friends.  I treasure these friendships.  My twitter friends mean the world to me, and I feel very connected with them. If  you aren't on twitter and don't engage, you will not understand what I mean.

I want to say thank you, to my friends.      XO Catherine

Where Does The Time Go?

I can't believe it's November already, so I ask myself - where does the time go?  Does time go quicker the older you get?  Is that really how it works?  Because that's what I've heard all my life.  Before we know it, the holidays will be here.  That's a conversation for another time, soon!  lol

I hope everyone had a fun Halloween.

See you next time!

Wednesday's Thoughts

Today is Wednesday, and it's also Halloween. It's raining here and I'm not really expecting too many trick-or-treaters, however I do have candy ready!  Happy Halloween everyone!

Tuesday night's radio show

Last night's show was a blast!  I thank JP and Dillon very much for inviting me to be a permanent co-host.  If you haven't already checked us out, please visit  blogtalkradio.com/under-review  We are live every Tuesday from 8-10pm eastern time.  JP, Dillon and Kate are truly awesome people and every week is a fun filled 2 hours. My segment, which is called "Are You Kidding Me?" was very good. I thank my friend Joe, a blogger I met through twitter, for encouraging me to share this story.  His blog is great and you can find it here: http://warpony2310.blogspot.com   Kate's segment, called "Kate's Rant" was excellent!  Kate is a wonderful and special lady, please visit her at  http://katevsworld.com/   The show is sponsored by www.heroenergyshot.com  We encourage you to call us (619-393-6431) and give a hero shoutout!  The great folks at Hero Energy Shot will send you a 2 pack of hero energy shots, and I'm here to tell you the company is amazing and their products are excellent!  I hope you can listen to the live show, but if not, feel free to check the archives for previous shows.

Hurricane Sandy

Also, on last night's show we were lucky enough to have the one and only Charlie Frattini from Sell This House Extreme on A&E.  Charlie shared his experiences and thoughts about Hurricane Sandy.  Charlie is a great guy, and offered his help to others.

Speaking of this awful Hurricane, I find myself watching every news report.  It's just devastating and I am praying for everyone who's been affected by all of this loss.  It's truly heartbreaking.  I can't imagine going through something like this.  I keep hearing, "Strangers Becoming Friends" and that's pretty cool in the scope of things. People helping others.  I think Gov. Chris Christie is great, and he and the President had a press conference today, so the people affected should feel better about help coming to them.

This is all I have for Wednesday, thank you for visiting my blog!  Enjoy your Halloween, see you next time - feel free to follow me on twitter @cathinseattle
